Funeral Procession for the Beekeeper’s Wife

The first rewrite…

The beekeeper wakes

his bees with a gentle

humming, with the clock

in the honey, with a gentle

call of clovers

from inside

of himself.

The bees rub off

the golden sleep.

Awake and dressed

they take to the air, clumsily

the beekeeper

and his bees

into the bone white

light.

.
.
.
.
.
First Draft.

The beekeeper

wakes his bees

with a gentle

humming

from inside

of himself

wakes his

bees with

the child’s

open mouth

of wonder part of him.

Awake and

dressed

they take

to the air,

clumsily

the beekeeper

and his bees

into the bone

white light.
